Dumbo
Stop hoarding dead repos — a GitHub graveyard cleanup concept for retiring stale repositories before they become permanent noise.
Problem
Personal and org GitHub accounts accumulate forks, experiments, and abandoned prototypes. Deleting blindly is risky; keeping everything is worse. There is no lightweight ritual for reviewing what still matters and archiving or removing what does not.
Dumbo names that problem directly: repository stewardship as maintenance, not guilt-driven bulk deletion.
Intended workflow
- Graveyard review mindset — classify repos by last activity, dependents, and ownership
- Safe cleanup posture — audit before delete, not reactive purging
- Developer-native framing aligned with GitHub’s repo-centric mental model
- Companion to the fuller Dmbo app for local-first bulk maintenance with scoped tokens
- Clear positioning: maintenance tooling, not entertainment UI
