Aidre Cabrera
aidre /ād-rē/ n. noun
Software Engineer
Aidre is an autodidact Self-taught. . This is a surface exhibition A partial view, not a complete archive. of what he has done for the past years.
I am a full-stack software engineer, and I also moonlightAlongside his main engineering work. in UX/UI design because when it comes to the frontend layer, I care deeply about the experience and the feel. That comes from the frustration I have felt with software that gets the predictable interfaces and surface-level designPolish without care for how it actually feels. wrong, especially the invisible detailsTiming, feedback, motion. What you feel but rarely name. that shape the experience.
I have lived my life surrounded by the ideals that being ambitious is a bad thing, and that one should be ashamed of it, what we call smart-shaming culturePressure to downplay intelligence or ambition.. Even so, most of what I do comes from standards, curiosity, and a thirst for growth. My biggest fear is stagnancy. I would rather face the discomfort of growth and learning than live a life without it.
To me, “I know that I know nothingScio me nihil scire. Apology” is an expression of humility, and a reminder of how much still remains to be understood. I am mostly elusiveReserved by default, not distant. and tend to be quiet; when I am loud, it is intentional and deliberate. The more one understands, the more one sees how little is known.
I have served for years as a QSPhilippine school science role. Research, mentoring, and lab programs. in various schools, where I work across robotics, web development, machine learning, computer vision, automation, IoT, and embedded systems.
I care deeply about craftCare in how something is made. and quality, the same instinct that makes bad interfaces bother me. That comes at a cost sometimes: I slow down, or burn energy holding the barKeeping standards high when speed would lower them.. I have grown and worked on it, because today execution matters more than thinking.
You can reach me at Facebook and via email or see my code on GitHub (most are still privateClient and school work that cannot be shown publicly.).
